Naked truth has been considered important in any story and has beenwelcomed with open arms by everyone. Sometimes it may not bereasonable to say the ultimate truth as argued by Simmons (2006),“naked truth when told to people may cause one to go hungry andthis is particularly in the literal sense.” For instance, when aboss in a particular company is told that his or her ideas may not berelevant to a given situation, this may attract consequences or evenbe told to mind your own business. As a result of that, the story hasbeen considered important in such a situation since it is lessdirect, gracious and often may prompt less resistance. Telling thetruth in a particular circumstance for instance, in a panel ofexecutives may not be welcoming hence the need for one to be a goodstoryteller in order to coin the truth in a story that may notattract consequences. The power of the story is very relevant insituations that may not warrant the direct truth to avoid thenegative reaction and impact from the people who are listening to you(Simmons, 2015). For instance, the author of the book, “What is astory” has argued, “Jesus and Prophet Muhammad used the power ofstory to influence the people’s lives.”

Indeveloping a story, Campbell (2008), came up with the mythic and thearchetypal structure and principles of stories. Patterns in thestories and their themes are very important. Language also matters instories hence, there is the need for one to write a story using awell-developed standardized language that can be easily understood.Character development also matters a great deal in story development.Additionally, the detailed framework is crucial, especially in theanalysis of the plot of the story. Therefore, it is important for oneto come up with a plot that he or she desires to develop a story.Patterns in writing story are thus the key to a successful story.

Stories and creative leadership go hand in hand in most occasions.For instance, leaders for years have used stories to change thesituation of the people’s lives in the society. For instance, insolving the epidemic of malaria and other diseases, stories have beentold about the effects of the epidemic on the victims. On the otherhand, the stories of successful prevention and handling of the menacehave also been used, hence enabling the leaders to understand thebest course of action to take. Leaders on their shoulders often carrythe weight of the citizens. There is the need for the leaders towelcome the stories view and ideas from the people affected to comeup with a permanent solution. Additionally, the story has been usedfor years by the oppressed to undermine the formal authority. Forinstance, through a compelling story that signifies hope can be usedto awaken the oppressed hence leading to a revolution anddemonstrations.

Accordingto Caldwell (2006), a successful leader can influence the entirepopulation and the nation through bonding that is created by one’sactions that are evident by standing for one may be considered rightand the power of storytelling. It is thus paramount for a leader tosee or even hear what other people are saying or doing to come upwith a strategy that can be used to empower them. For instance,Caldwell said, “Lincoln in most occasion used to spend most of histime outside the white house than the time he spends in it.”Notably, he took time visiting his troops that were spread outside inthe fields. Thus, the power of listening is a powerful tool as it cancreate respect and trust among the leaders and the subjects. Creative leaders have successfully made use of stories in theirleadership to come up with a solution or innovation to improve thepeople’s lives. As aresult of this, the story that an individual has been told severalyears back can still have an impact at present by influencing thecurrent individual’s thoughts. Jesus used the parable stories tosimplify the facts that are beyond human understanding for the peopleto understand with ease.

According to (Kyi, 2010), “it is clear that it is not always thepower that corrupts people but fear.” It is evident that peopleadmire the power to have an influence on matters affecting thesociety. Therefore, they tend to generate a fear of losing that powerthat they have gained hence corrupting them in the process. Thecollection of stories advocates for the classic democracy. Oppositionto any government is very healthy, as it keeps the government incheck to make reforms that will benefit the people. People’s pointof view is essential to the decision-making on issues affecting them.Courage is the vital instrument that should be applied for one tospeak the truth. Critics are often good, and one should not avoid it,but rather to welcome the other’s view and accommodate them in thewhole issue.

Humanrights have been considered a birthright of every individualglobally. It is clear that initially, there existed barriers thatoften prevented the people from exercising their rights. As arguedby, Clinton, (2011), “it is illegal for a government to declare gayillegal.” He considers this a violation of human rights. In mostnations, gay, transgender, bisexual and lesbian are denied theopportunity to exercise their rights by making these acts illegal. Itis thus vital for a leader to listen to the views of others andrespect their human rights, as all people deserve to be recognizedand further be treated with utmost dignity. Human rights should berespected at all cost no matter the circumstances surrounding him orher.

Qualityleadership entails one having the desirable personalities. Accordingto Kantor (2007), “there is a significant difference between Mr.Obama and Mr. Clinton in terms of their personality and temperament”.Personality is imperative for a great leadership, and this trait candetermine how the leader will interact with their subordinates. Onehas to sympathize, especially with the deprived and those who areless privileged to highlight a creative leadership skill. The storybetween Mr. Obama and Clinton are the real life examples that theauthor has used to bring out the leadership traits desirable forquality leadership.

Accordingto Amandla (2002), music has been used as an effective tool for thesocial protest that was developed and directed towards Apartheid inthe South Africa. The political oppressive were widespread throughoutSouth Africa. There is the need for the people to unite and gain thecourage that will enable them to fight for their rights for freedomand equality. For instance, the Sibongile Kumalo’s song as one ofthe many songs used in the film is all about the people’s struggle. The people’s voice and unity are the perfect tools that will givethem freedom from oppression.

Therefore, stories have been developed and used for sending amessage, passing the morals and societal values to people and toinforming the society members. As a powerful tool, the story has beenemployed in addressing the emerging problems in the society throughcreative leadership as it has been highlighted in the essay.
