  1. Differences between a coach and a counselor

Themain difference between a coach and a counselor is the role they playin their client’s life. Coaching is different from counseling,although they are related. The role of a counselor is to help theclient reexamine his or her past and heal the wounds implicated bypast experiences. For example, a counselor wills health an individualdual with the impacts of childhood abuse or a broken relationship. On the other hand, a coach helps the client achieve his or her goalsin the future. The role of a coach is to help people improve andchange their lives to make them better. The coach helps an individualset and achieve goals rather than focusing on the failures in thepast (Stone, 2007). For example, an individual can seek the servicesof a coach to improve his career or business.

  1. Coaching season

Thereare several challenges that I faced in the coaching season. The mostimportant challenge was setting goals. The client knew what he wantedto achieve but did not have an agenda or what he wanted to do toachieve his goals. As a result, remaining focused to the subjectmatter and managing time became an important challenge. However, thesession did not turn into counseling seasons since the client did nothave burdens from the past. Therefore, the hardest part of the seasonwas setting goals. In my view, identifying the strengths andweaknesses of the client should be the initial step in coachingseasons.

  1. TV show and movie

Themovie facing the giants is one of the most published coaching movies.There are several coaching lessons that can be learned from themovie. The most important coaching mistake in the movie ischallenging the client beyond what he or she can handle (Kendrick,2006). This is likely to result into loss of hope. Thus, it isimportant for the coach to know the strengths and abilities of theclient before setting goals and challenging the client.

GreenTransportation has achieved a lot of successes and is still targetingto realize more success as it projects to develop its services to anational and international level. In order to realize this, thecompany has to experience some changes that would support itsexpansion plan. The following paragraphs explain the changes that theorganization will be experiencing.

Oneof the changes that the company will experience entails boosting themorale of its employees. Currently, the morale of employees is lowthis may affect the company’s plan of expanding to national andinternational levels since the low morale may affect the productivityof employees as well as the manner in which they offer services(Abrahamson, 2004). In order to ensure that the morale of employeesis high, the company will need to make changes in its compensationand reward systems. In making changes to the compensation system, thecompany will need to consider market rates. Besides, the company willneed to change its hiring and training policy in order to ensure thatits hiring policy aligns with the international hiring policy. It iscrucial to ensure that the company hires highly competitive andqualified employees that would be capable of offering qualityservices that meet international standards. The company will alsoneed to have a training center that will build and develop the skillsof employees.

Furthermore,the company will need to change its communication policy. In anorganization, effective communication is critical in ensuring thatgrievances of employees are heard and resolved within a reasonabletimeframe (Abrahamson, 2004). The company will need to change itscommunication policy in order to be capable of resolving employees’problems within a short time. In addition, a new communication policywill enable the management to know of an emerging issue in a timelymanner.
