Failureand success surround people`s lives. There is an array of activitiesthat people in and the result of these activities is either successor failure. Both have their causes and consequences, and they aredistinct from each other. They can also be relative depending on theindicators that people set. An activity can be highly successful opartially successful. When people work, they all look forward tosuccess, and they put measures to ensure that they achieve it. Thereare various causes or factors that lead to success in any activity.

Thefirst cause of success is the belief that people have in themselvesthat they are up to the task facing them. Before embarking on anyactivity, the self-belief is an imperative factor since it sets themomentum in which the other activities follow. Self-belief act as aprop in every stage of activity especially for an endeavor thatinvolves long procedures. Contrary to the tendency of some peopleventuring into activities with a double that entertains thepossibility of failure, people who believe in themselves do not haveungrounded reservations for failure. The drive of capability inindividuals helps them face any challenge that comes along the waybecause they fix their eyes on the intended outcome (Pozin).

Persistenceis another cause of success. There are many turnarounds anddisheartening occurrences in the process of achieving success.Self-belief is not sufficient n the absence of persistence. Peoplemay fail many times before hitting their target, but persistencekeeps them going on and they overcome the challenge. Any activity hasa borderline that mark the most difficult part whereby many peopleopt to quit (Tobin 26). Those who successfully overcome theafflictions of this stage become individuals of exemplaryperformance. Therefore, with persistence people can try as many timesas required to reach their goal. A good example is a studentpresenting a graduate proposal before a defense committee. Moststudents revise their proposals several times before sailing throughthe process. Those who are persistent enough eventually learn fromtheir mistakes and perfects their work and become cleared by thecommittee (Pozin).

Settingsmart goals are also another cause of success. An individual cannotventure in any activity without having a mental image of the desiredsituation. People there set goals, and they act as thedirection-givers for every activity. Goal prevents irrelevancy ofactivities that may waste time and resources yet they do not work forthe good of the desired outcome. Goal-setting is applicable in anyactivity and those who take the time to map their process experiencesuccess. It is through goals that people know whether they have beensuccessful or not.

Humilityin the performance of duties also enhances achieving success. Despitebelieving in themselves, successful people are humble enough to learnfrom others in their environment. Acting as a know-it-all may keep ofresourceful people who might give advice and ideas to facilitate andhasten the process. Pride can make the process to be a one-man show,and people would be hesitant to offer any support in case ofchallenges along the way. With humility, people come across otherswith interests in a similar target and create a platform to exchangeideas. Some plans may become subject to alterations concerning theinformation that one gets about their ineffectiveness frompredecessors in similar endeavors. (Rhodes 41).

Whenone becomes successful in an activity, there is a feeling ofsatisfaction and inner pride of having achieved the desiredobjective. The feeling brings happiness to an individual since theyattribute the victory to their sacrifice. The responsibility andownership towards the success increase and they will be willing tosustain the achievement. Most people who succeed in the variousdomains of their work become towers and aspiring people consult themin various matters (Rhodes 32). A good example is the successfulbusinessmen across the globe who take part in mentoring others withsimilar interests. The fact that they are role models has a positiveeffect on their inner feeling of pride.

Sometimes,people struggle to achieve, and when they succeed, they are notconfident enough as to whether they can sustain their achievements.There is fear that the fruits realized after a long and challengingprocess may not last due to the fear of the unknown. Anxiety sets inas people try to figure out the way forward as well as fearing theirdownfall. However, individuals who are humble enough to involveothers in their success will always have extended hands ready to helpthem whenever there is a threat towards the accomplished project.

Conclusively,success is the goal of every person acting in good will towards anundertaking. The path through which success come is not alwayssmooth, and it requires a lot of perseverance and consultations.Success should also not embrace it as an individual affair. Involvingothers will create a sense of belonging and people will be willing tosustain the fruits of the achievement.
